First Day. We will meet early in the morning at Catania airport, or another location of your choosing. We will start with a short coffee break, and immediately after will depart for Taormina Isola Bella. Once there, we will have the opportunity to swim in its crystal clear waters or visit Taormina, with its historic streets full of colors, tradition and its most panoramic terraces, purchase souvenirs or shopping. We will have lunch in Taormina before departing.
In the afternoon, aboard one of our off-road vehicles, we will drive from Taormina to Nebrodi Park, among Etna’s scenic villages and picturesque mountain roads. Our hotel is located at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level, surrounded by trees and local wildlife, inside the Nebrodi Park. Welcome cocktail will be served at 8:30 and immediately after we will have dinner with the flavors of Sicily, accompanied by an excellent wine.
Second day. After a good breakfast, we are back in the car, headed to Nelson’s Castle, to relive moments of history through the rooms and grounds of the Castle. We will go into the heart of the Nebrodi Park, the off-road paths taking us to the Trearie, Biviere, Maulazzo Lakes. The path through the woods will be interspersed with oak trees of rare beauty, while the local wildlife will keep us company on the journey (with luck, we will see some of the wild black pigs for which the park is so famous), with nature engaging your senses with multiple sensations of smells and colors.
Certain that this will stimulate our hunger, we will stop for a picnic lunch under the trees, consisting of a tasty grill, accompanied with good wine and excellent local bread. We're sure that the natural surroundings will enhance the flavors and make them unique.
In the late afternoon we will stop to enjoy a good cup of coffee in a small farming town, and then we will arrive at our agritorismo (with swimming pool) for dinner and overnight stay. The agriturismo is surrounded by nature, but only a short distance from the towns of San Teodoro and Cesaro. After we arrive, we will have time for everyone to get in the pool for a relaxing soak, followed-up by dinner, highlighting new flavors & Sicilian wine. After dinner we will recount our stories from the two days just passed, tasting under the "Moon and Stars" a good local “amaro” (an Italian liqueur).
Third day. After breakfast at the agriturismo, we will take an off-road path along the river, taking us near the ruins of the "Castle Punta Mozza". We will continue heading towards Etna, but not before a little brake to Bronte, to taste pistachio sweets or a good granita. The off-road route will resume at the foot of the volcano between chestnut trees and lava trails, with breathtaking views of the Sicilian Ionian coast. Along the way we will stop for lunch in a fantastic place where you can taste some good bread "cunsato" with olives, cheese and salami, all enhanced by a good wine and by Mother Nature all around us.
After the lunch break, we will reach the Silvestri Craters (Etna Sud), walking for a few minutes you can reach the summit of them, from where you can view the eruptive vents of the volcano, but at the same time enjoying the panoramic views of much of eastern Sicily. Here, colors, and smells change with temperature, but this is the charm of our land ... in a few kilometers everything changes in an explosion of simple harmonious beauty.
At the end of this show the three-day tour is close to an end, but not before we stop in Belpasso in the legendary Bar Condorelli with sweet greetings offered by Desert Experience, with the hope to see you again soon at one of our upcoming Tours.
